I am a Portuguese (b. 1998) artist based in Los Angeles. My background in engineering has shaped the way I look at the world, through systems, relationships, forces, and their consequences. I bring this way of looking into a multidisciplinary practice centered around drawing, writing, photography, sculpture, and painting.

I work through experiments that become points of departure. I bring materials, actions, and structures together, allowing repetition, movement, chance, and failure to become part of the process. The work can shift between an image, an object, an action, or a structure, developing through a series of decisions and responses rather than toward a predetermined result.

I am interested in what happens when something is set in motion and a decision becomes the condition for what comes next. Each experiment leads to another, and the work accumulates through these departures and responses. What happens does not end with the action itself; it continues through what follows, including the viewer’s encounter with it. The work emerges from the tension between the impulse to define and control and the recognition that what follows can never be fully determined.

I hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto, Portugal, and currently completing an MFA at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, expected in 2027.
